VOV.VN - Three Vietnamese returnees from France have been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing Vietnam’s tally of coronavirus infections to 1,256, according to the Ministry of Health.
The trio returned to Vietnam from France on board flight VN5010 on November 11 and were quarantined upon arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.
The mother, 35, and her two children, 10 and 9 respectively, live in Hanoi’s Thanh Xuan district.
They were tested for COVID-19 on November 12 and the results showed they had carried the virus.
The new patients are now placed in quarantine at HCM City’s Cu Chi field hospital for medical observation and treatment.
At a meeting in Hanoi on November 13, Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said the pandemic remains evolving in a complex manner globally, forcing many countries to re-impose social distancing measures.
He warned about a possible resurgence of the virus in Vietnam in the coming winter should epidemic prevention measures not be tightened.
The Ministry of Health reported that Vietnam has to date recorded a total of 1,256 imported and locally transmitted COVID-19 cases.
Of the total, 1,101 patients have recovered from the disease, and 35 patients have died of the virus and related illnesses.
Vietnam has gone through 72 consecutive days without detecting a single locally transmitted infection.
