COVID-19: One fresh imported COVID-19 case recorded, total hits 1,253

VOV.VN - Vietnam confirmed one new imported COVID-19 case on November 12, bringing the total number of infections to 1,253, while recovered patients total 1,093, according to the Ministry of Health.

The new patient is a 28- year-old female expert of Hungarian nationality. On October 29, she entered Van Don Airport in Quang Ninh province from India on flight LO9001. Her second test result came back positive for the SAR-CoV-2 virus on November 12. Currently, the patient is placed in quarantine for treatment at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi’s Dong Anh district.

The total number of recoveries rose to 1,093 after two more coronavirus patients were discharged from hospital after making a full recovery on the same day. There have been 35 deaths related to the disease.

Among patients undergoing treatment, 23 tested negative for the coronavirus once, 13 twice and 11 others thrice. No patient is now in critical condition.

As many as 15,540 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or entered Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions are quarantined across the nation.

Vietnam has experienced more than two months without recording cases of COVID-19 in the community.
