Three foreign NGOs pledge US$2.5 million for Da Nang
VOV.VN - Three foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs) from the United States and Australia have committed nearly US$2.5 million to support development and humanitarian initiatives in the central city of Da Nang for the 2025–2030 period.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed on October 22 by representatives of the three organisations and the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations, outlining their cooperation for the next five years.
Giving It Back to Kids (USA) pledged US$1.06 million to promote sustainable development and human capital growth. Their programmes will focus on spreading humanitarian values through education, enhancing life skills, and supporting community initiatives.
Another US NGO, Children of Vietnam, will contribute US$1 million to joint projects on education, infrastructure, nutrition, and emergency relief. Thousands of disadvantaged children and families in Da Nang are expected to benefit directly from this support.
Australia’s Lifestart Foundation has pledged US$343,500 through education and medical scholarships, along with humanitarian initiatives including clean water filtration systems, bicycles, essential supplies, and blankets for underprivileged students.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Tran Thi Man, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang, praised the city’s Union of Friendship Organisations for serving as a vital bridge between the local administration and international partners. She reaffirmed the city’s commitment to facilitating the smooth implementation of projects and activities, noting their important role in improving social welfare.
Nguyen Ngoc Binh, President of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations, said that since 2021, the city has partnered with 30 international NGOs to implement more than 110 programmes and projects on healthcare, education, poverty reduction, disaster risk mitigation, environmental protection, and social welfare.
He said the new MoU marks the beginning of a broader cooperation phase for 2025–2030, during which the Union aims to secure more aid and attract more international experts and volunteers with high-level skills to support Da Nang’s priority development sectors.
