Thai Binh records COVID-19 relapse case
VOV.VN - A 32-year-old man from the northern province of Thai Binh, who had previously been discharged from hospital for a 14-day period after successfully recovering from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), has once again tested positive for the virus.
The man had originally been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus on October 18 after returning to the country from Russia. Upon detection of the virus, he was swiftly admitted to the General Hospital in Nam Dinh province in order to receive treatment.
After going on to record three consecutive negative tests for the virus, he was subsequently released from hospital on November 12 before undergoing a mandatory 14-day period of isolation at his home in Thai Binh province.
Upon the conclusion of the isolation period that was implemented in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control put forward by the Health Ministry, samples were taken from the patient on November 26. After conducting the RT-PCR test, the man’s results once again came back positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Following the detection of the relapse case, CDC Thai Binh stated that they have successfully tracked down and quarantined a total of four individuals who came into close contact with the COVID-19 case. At present all of them remain in a stable health condition.
