Start-Up Nation author visits Vietnam
VOV.VN - Co-author of – Start-Up Nation: The Story of Israel’s Economic Miracle – Saul Singer will be in Ho Chi Minh City on December 6 to attend a seminar at No10 Mai Chi Tho St in District 2.
Start-Up Nation examines the Israeli trillion-dollar high-tech industry and the country’s improbable success, exploring how a small nation of only 7.1 million people, in a constant state of war and with no natural resources, has carved out a lucrative niche for itself in high-tech on a par in scale and calibre with US top companies.
The book is not only an exposé of historical and business facts, but portrays Israel as a model for individuals and nations seeking to build their own high-tech industries and boost their economic confidence.
The book has been translated into many languages and published all around the globe. In Vietnam, it is considered a must read for young people, particularly those with entrepreneurial and leadership talent.
Singer believes that there is great potential for collaboration between Israeli and Vietnamese companies, citing the American-Israeli example. The two countries could have joint research and development, and Israeli companies could help to make Vietnamese companies more innovative, he has said.
He notes that the possibility of cooperation hasn’t been obvious until now, because the Vietnamese haven’t looked beyond their borders for innovation. Also, traditionally, they have seen outside markets as only a target for export, but that this he has said— could and should change.
The seminar – Fail2Win – also draws the participation of Nguyen Thanh My, president of My Lan Group, Cao Thi Ngoc Dung, president of PNJ and Nguyen Duc Tai, founder and president of Mobile World Group, who will share their business insights and experiences with those in attendance.
