Tragic car accident in Nam Dinh leaves seven dead
VOV.VN - On January 30 afternoon (the second day of the Lunar New Year or Tet), a 61-year-old woman driving a seven-seater car lost control, causing the vehicle to plunge into a river in Nam Dinh City, resulting in seven fatalities and two injuries.
According to the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security, at approximately 3 pm, N.T.D. (born in 1964, residing in Ba Dinh district, Hanoi) was driving a seven-seater car with license plate 30G-156.xx, traveling from Voi Bridge toward Nam Dinh City.
The vehicle was carrying 7 adults and two children of the same family.
Upon reaching km153+500 of National Highway 21, the car suddenly lost control, crashed into the bridge railing, and plunged into the river. The impact killed seven passengers on the spot, including the driver, N.T.D.
Upon receiving the report, Nam Dinh provincial Police and Nam Truc District Police arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations, regulate traffic, and investigate the cause of the accident. The Traffic Police Department also dispatched a task force to coordinate efforts in handling the incident in line with regulations.
The police are conducting a further investigation into the accident.
