Returners cause congestion in Hanoi after Hung Kings break
VOV.VN -Large numbers of people have began flocking back to Hanoi after enjoying a three-day break over the Hung Kings holiday, resulting in major traffic congestion forming throughout the city.
With the holiday period coming to an end, people came back to Hanoi to prepare to return to work. |
According to VOV sources, severe traffic jams hit many of the city’s streets. The worst hit areas include Phap Van-Cau Gie highway, Thuong Tin-Giang Phong, Thanh Tri bridge, and Thang Long bridge. |
By 15:00 on April 15, many of the capital’s roads were flooded with people returning to the city. |
Vehicles were only able to move at a snail's pace in the direction of Thuong Tin-Giai Phong. |
Phap Van highway, which leads to Giai Phong street, was packed with vehicles. |
Scenes of heavy traffic could be seen on Thanh Tri bridge. |
A family could be seen stuck in the congestion. They had three people and lots of luggage packed on their motorbike. |
Long lines of vehicles and motorbikes were forced to wait in traffic for a long period of time. |
Some motorbikes were able to navigate their way out of the traffic by driving on the pavement in order to avoid the gridlock. |
Traffic jams that emerged on Phap Van highway were worsened by a number of unregistered buses picking up passengers on. |
An accident between two cars added to the traffic chaos. |
Fortunately a traffic policeman was on hand to deal with the effects of the collision and to manage the heavy traffic jams. |
