Quang Nam strives to speed up COVID-19 testing

VOV.VN - The central province of Quang Nam has asked relevant units to accelerate testing for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in order to take at least 6,000 samples each day.

The majority of testing must focus on F1 and F2 cases, in addition to those who are currently in quarantine and isolation areas.

The provincial Center for Disease Control has also been requested to continue tracking and identifying those who came into close contact with F1 cases, as well as boosting the number of quick-response teams from six to 10.

The Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Quang Nam province has therefore assigned the Department of Health to direct the provincial Center for Disease Control and Duy Xuyen district’s Medical Center to monitor epidemic prevention work at Binh An Hospital. In addition, a range of preventive measures should be taken to avoid cross infection at treatment facilities.

As of August 11, Quang Nam province had conducted over 33,0006 test samples, successfully detecting 82 positive cases of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the process, along with recording more than 25,200 negative cases. At present, approximately 7,700 samples are waiting to receive their results back.
