Police rescue 12 trapped in vehicles after expressway pile-up in Da Nang
VOV.VN - The fire and rescue police of Da Nang city successfully rescued 12 people trapped inside vehicles following a multiple-vehicle pile-up on the La Son – Tuy Loan Expressway traversing Da Nang on the evening of September 11.

According to initial reports, the incident happened at around 7:50 p.m., when a passenger coach collided with two trucks at section Km 42+600 heading toward Hue. The crash left the coach and one truck jammed together, preventing many passengers from escaping on their own.
The Da Nang police immediately dispatched specialised rescue vehicles, fire trucks, and elite rescue teams to the scene. Officers broke windows to pull 11 passengers out safely while setting up fire hoses to prevent explosions caused by leaking fuel.
The coach driver, however, was trapped in the cabin with severe leg injuries. After providing first aid, rescuers deployed an excavator to assist in freeing him. At 10:10 p.m., following determined efforts, the driver was extricated and rushed to hospital.
The accident caused traffic congestion stretching several kilometres in both directions on the expressway. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
