Penumbral lunar eclipse visible on March 23 evening

The penumbral lunar eclipse will start from 16:39 to 20:54. However, the ideal time to view it will be from 18:00 to 20:54.

The eclipse will reach its peak at around 18:47. At that time, 85% of the surface of the moon will enter into the dark and turn into orange or light red colour and it will end at 20:54, said Dang Vu Tuan Son, president of Vietnam Amateur Club of Astronomy (VACA).

Son said lunar eclipse is very safe compared to solar eclipse, enabling viewers to observe the phenomenon with naked eyes.
