Passenger bus plunges off cliff in Da Nang, killing three
VOV.VN - A bus carrying 22 passengers has fallen off an expressway in Da Nang, with the incident leaving three dead and three others severely injured.
According to initial information from the scene, the accident took place around 1:30 a.m. on January 23.
At the time bus driver Phuong Thanh Tung, 36, was driving the 40-seat bus on the La Son – Tuy Loan Expressway in the direction of Dak Lak in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue.
When travelling on Km36 of the La Son-Tuy Loan Expressway in the area of Da Nang's Hoa Vang district, the passenger bus, which was owned by Quynh Huong company, plunged off a cliff.
Upon receiving news of the incident, rescue forces were swiftly mobilised at the scene in order to help the victims who were still stuck inside of the vehicle.
The crash instantly killed three people, while a further three victims suffering from severe injuries were immediately taken to the Da Nang General Hospital to receive treatment.
According to details given by the police, at the time of the accident it was raining heavily and the road had been deserted.
Traffic police in the province are now determining the cause of the fatal accident.
