Overview picture of Southeast Asia’s longest cross-sea bridge
VOV.VN - Once completed, Tan Vu-Lach Huyen Bridge linking Dinh Vu Peninsula and Cat Hai island district in Hai Phong City will be the longest cross-sea bridge in Southeast Asia.
The bridge, 16 m wide, 15.6km long including 5.44km cross-sea, is built at a cost of nearly VND12,000 billion (US$522 million), of which US$443 million comes from Japanese official development assistance. |
It connects developing areas in the east of Hai Phong with Lach Huyen Port in the island district of Cat Hai and the Hanoi – Hai Phong highway. |
The bridge now has four lanes and it is expected to expand to six lanes after its completion. |
After the bridge opens to traffic, it will take just five minutes to travel by bus from Hai Phong city to Cat Hai island instead of hours by ferry. |
The official inauguration of the bridge is planned for September 2. |
