Nine workers injured in Binh Duong wood dust explosion
VOV.VN - Nine workers were injured in a dust explosion at a wood processing company in the southern province of Binh Duong on July 6.
The workplace accident happened at approximately 14:00 on July 7 at H.T. Limited Company operating in Tan Binh industrial zone of bac Tan Uyen district.
According to initial reports, a maintenance worker found smoke when they were working on the company’s dust tank. The maintenance worker then called in other workers to cool the dust tank using the on-site fire suppression system, but the dust tank then exploded.
Among nine workers suffering burns, four were seriously injured and they were transferred to Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
The four victims are now out of critical condition and are being actively monitored and treated in the intensive care unit, said doctors at Cho Ray hospital.
The remaining five workers are receiving medical treatment at Binh Duong provincial General Hospital.
The local police launched an investigation and confirmed this was a workplace accident.
