Nine injured in head-on car collision in northern Vietnam
VOV.VN - Nine people were injured in a head-on collision between a minivan and a tanker truck carrying building materials in Dien Bien province on April 20.
The accident happened at 16:30 at Section km45 of National highway 279 on Tang Quai pass of Ma Tau commune, 27km away from Dien Bien Phu city.
Passers-by and volunteers from the Vietnam Red Cross Association gave the victms first aid and took them to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
They also called relevant forces of Dien Bien province to bring specialized equipment to the scene to rescue the remaining people trapped inside the minivan.
The rescue work was completed in more than an hour.
At the scene, nine people were injured. Among them, a driver suffered two broken legs and injuries to his abdomen and chest.
Receiving treatment at hospital, the victims were all out of critical condition and none of them suffered life threatening injuries.
Slippery road due to rain was the initial cause of the accident.
