Nearly 1,000 coronavirus patients declared free from COVID-19

VOV.VN - Vietnam has gone 24 consecutive days without recording any fresh cases of local transmission, keeping the national tally at 1,069, while 999 COVID-19 patients have fully recovered from the disease, the Ministry of Health said on September 26.

According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the infection tally stays at 1,069, with locally transmitted cases at 691, and imported cases at 378 which were immediately put into quarantine upon entry.

To date, there have been a total of 999 COVID-19 patients who have been declared free from the novel coronavirus.

The total figure for cases related to the coronavirus outbreak in central Da Nang city since the resurgence of the virus in late July stands at 551.

35 fatalities relating to COVID-19 have confirmed so far, with most of them being the elderly suffering serious underlying health issues.

More than 21,840 people are still under quarantine throughout the nation, with over 1,650 at hospitals, and the remainder at concentrated quarantine facilities and at home.

Among the active cases in treatment, 22 have tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at least once or several times.
