Miss Cosmo 2024 stage collapses in HCM City, contestants stay safe

The new surfaced social media, with some images showing the lighting system on the stage suddenly fell down.

The organizers of Miss Cosmo 2024 confirmed the news on September 29 and said a technical incident occurred during the final preparations for the main stage of the competition.

They quickly worked alongside technical experts, medical teams, and relevant authorities to address the incident.

All the contestants were safe and there were no significant injuries following the stage collapse, they said.

“We are continuing to work with relevant parties to identify the cause of the incident and will provide updates to the public as soon as possible. Additionally, we have swiftly implemented measures to ensure the health and safety of all contestants, as their safety remains our top priority at this time,” said a representative of the organising board. 

The stage is set to host the semifinals on October 2 and the finals on October 5 of the Miss Cosmo 2024 pageant. The stage features advanced hydraulic technology.

Ho Chi Minh City is the final stop for the Miss Cosmo 2024 contestants after they have toured locations such as Hanoi, Ninh Binh, and Da Lat.

This is the first time the competition has been held in Vietnam with the participation of nearly 60 contestants from more than 50 countries and territories worldwide.
