Military pilot discharged from hospital after training jet crash
VOV.VN - A military pilot has been discharged from hospital after suffering an injury in a training aircraft crash in central Vietnam, hospital officials said on January 29.
Second Lieutenant Dinh Thanh Trung was released from Phu Yen General Hospital on January 29 after one day of treatment, following a medical assessment confirming his condition was stable.
According to the hospital, Trung was admitted to the emergency department at 9:03 a.m. on January 28. The hospital immediately activated an internal emergency response protocol, mobilising medical staff to provide urgent treatment and closely coordinating with the unit where the pilot is stationed.
Doctors said the pilot responded well to treatment and no abnormalities were detected during follow-up examinations.
Earlier, the Ministry of National Defence confirmed that Yak-130 training aircraft piloted by Second Lieutenant Dinh Thanh Trung, from the 940th Air Regiment under the Air Force Officer Training School of the Air Defence–Air Force Service, took off at 7:27 a.m. on January 28 for a scheduled training mission.
At around 7:44 a.m., the aircraft encountered a technical problem and lost contact. The pilot attempted to handle the situation but was unable to recover control and was forced to steer the aircraft away from residential areas before ejecting safely.
The aircraft later crashed into Hon Vinh Mountain in Dong Hoa ward, Dak Lak province. No casualties or damage to civilian property were reported.
