Lao national caught in possession of large quantity of drugs
VOV.VN - Border guards operating in the central province of Quang Binh on July 20 have arrested a Lao national attempting to smuggle a large amount of drugs into Vietnam.

Initial reports state that after being placed under police surveillance for a long period of time, the Lao citizen was caught red-handed attempting to cross the border into Vietnam carrying 8,000 pills of synthetic drugs.
The arrest therefore occurred at 11:40 am on July 18 at the border area in Dan Hoa commune of Minh Hoa district.
Questioned by police, the Lao suspect, 36, confessed that he had taken advantage of the complicated situation surrounding the fight against the novel coronavirus to carry out the affair.
He provided information about his cooperation alongside several other Vietnamese citizens to transport the large drugs haul across the border from Laos.
The case is currently under further investigation.
