Landslides occurred in Hoang Lien Son after downpours

VOV.VN - Serious landslides have occurred in Hoang Lien Son mountain pass, part of National Highway 4D in recent days after torrential rains and floods, causing severe traffic congestion.

Hoang Lien Son pass, with a total length of nearly 50km, is part of Highway 4D.

Prolonged downpours cause serious landslides in many sections of the pass.

The prolonged rain begins on June 26 and continues in the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau.

It is much too risky for vehicles, especially heavy trucks to go though Hoang Lien Son pass these days.

Soil and rocks destroy hundreds of metres of separator along Highway 4D.

   Slippery roads make transport difficult.

Traffic police are on duty at landslides.

   Landslides cause severe traffic congestion.

Local authorities warns of other landslides in Hoang Lien Son pass.

Road users are guided to take other ways to avoid traffic congestion.
