Sympathy to China over landslide in Sichuan province

President Tran Dai Quang on June 24 sent a message of sympathy to the President and Party General Secretary of China Xi Jinping over the serious loss of human life and property caused by landslides in China’s southwest province of Sichuan. 

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also offered his condolences to China’s State Councillor Yang Jiechi and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. 
A landslide hit Xinmo village in Diexi township, Maoxian County in early morning on June 24, burying more than 120 people from 52 homes. 

According to Xinhua news agency, over 3,000 rescuers are racing against time to save the trapped people. Fifteen people have been confirmed dead while 118 others are missing.
