In his opening remarks, Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi shared the country’s achievements in 2024, including an economic growth rate of 7.09%, macroeconomic stability, and significant foreign direct investment inflows.
So far, Vietnam has also established nine comprehensive strategic partnerships and 19 strategic partnerships with countries globally, continuously enhancing its international stature.
The Vietnam-Denmark relations have been increasingly strengthened and deepened, bringing practical and specific benefits to each country, and both sides are looking towards further development steps in the coming time.
Nghi attributed the remarkable results to the efforts and determination of the entire Party, army and people in the country, and also the Vietnamese community abroad. He reaffirmed that the Party and State always pay attention to, highly appreciate, and acknowledge the practical, specific and effective contributions of Vietnamese expatriates abroad, including the Vietnamese community in Denmark, in the cause of national construction and development.
Welcoming overseas Vietnamese from all over Denmark to the gathering, the Ambassador expressed his joy and emotion at the affection and solidarity of the Vietnamese community in Denmark in a warm and friendly atmosphere. He shared that Tet is an occasion for all Vietnamese people to reunite, to turn their hearts to their roots, family and homeland, as well as to the sacred values of national traditions no matter where they go or what they do.
He extended Lunar New Year greetings to overseas Vietnamese in 2025 and expressed his hope that they would continue to maintain unity, mutual love and affection, reside stably in their host country, look towards their homeland, and serve as a bridge of friendship between the two countries.
During the programme, overseas Vietnamese shared their feelings on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year and enjoyed traditional Tet dishes such as bánh chưng (sticky rice cake), nem rán (fried spring rolls), as well as special art performances.
