VFF honours overseas Vietnamese returning home for Homeland Spring 2025

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) on January 19 hosted a ceremony in Hanoi to welcome a delegation of distinguished overseas Vietnamese who have returned for the Xuân Quê Hương 2025 (Homeland Spring 2025) programme.

At the ceremony, VFF Central Committee president Do Van Chien emphasized that the Vietnamese community abroad is an inseparable part of the nation, as well as of the great unity bloc of the people.

In this spirit, he said, the VFF Central Committee has actively carried out efforts to engage with overseas Vietnamese, strengthen social supervision and feedback in the implementation of policies and laws related to overseas Vietnamese.

The committee has worked to refine mechanisms to maximize the potential of the Vietnamese diaspora, collaborated with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs in supporting Vietnamese communities in difficult areas, and carried out commendation efforts to recognize positive contributions from overseas Vietnamese, he noted.

Representatives of the Vietnamese community expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the leadership of the Party, State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front for creating opportunities for overseas Vietnamese to participate in domestic activities. They vowed to always keep a strong connection to the homeland and stay willing to contribute wholeheartedly to the strength of the Vietnamese community abroad and the prosperity of the nation.

They also welcomed the recent passage of the Land Law 2024, which allows individuals of Vietnamese descent living abroad who do not hold Vietnamese nationality to fully enjoy land and housing rights similar to domestic citizens.

At the meeting, the VFF Central Committee presented certificates of merit to eight organizations and eighteen individuals who have achieved outstanding results in community work and activities towards the homeland.
