Interpol-wanted man from RoK arrested in Da Nang
VOV.VN - Police in the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang on May 15 arrested a national of the Republic of Korea (RoK) wanted under an Interpol red notice and handed him over to RoK authorities.
According to the Da Nang Police Department’s Criminal Police Division, Joo Young Su, born in 1979, was handed over to RoK authorities at Da Nang International Airport following coordination with Vietnam’s Immigration Department.
The Ministry of Public Security’s Investigation Police Agency requested Da Nang police to verify, arrest and hand over Joo after Interpol issued a red notice for him on April 22, 2026.
Investigators later verified information and tracked the suspect’s movements, determining that he had entered Vietnam and registered temporary residence in Da Nang.
Police discovered Joo staying at a hotel in Duy Nghia Commune and confirmed his identity through record checks on May 11 before arresting him.
Earlier this year, Da Nang police also handed over Chinese national Wang Hua, who was wanted internationally, to Chinese sides after he was arrested in the city.
