Interpol-wanted fugitive arrested in Vietnam, extradited to China

VOV.VN - Vietnamese police on January 12 returned a fugitive Chinese national wanted internationally to Chinese authorities at Thanh Thuy International Border Gate, Tuyen Quang province.

Fan Ming Zhen, also known by his Vietnamese name Pham Minh Chan, was wanted under an international arrest warrant issued by the Heze Municipal Public Security Bureau in China’s Shandong province on charges of organising illegal cross-border migration. Chinese authorities had formally requested cooperation from Vietnam in locating and apprehending the suspect.

The suspect had used many sophisticated methods to conceal his identity, constantly changing residences and traveling across various locations to avoid arrest.

Vietnamese police affirmed that the arrest demonstrates the sense of responsibility and determination of Vietnamese police in international cooperation in the fight against illegal immigration and migration and transnational human trafficking.
