Hanoi detects four additional cases positive for SARS-CoV-2
VOV.VN - The Hanoi Center for Disease Control (HCDC) has identified four new cases diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus related to flight VN160 on April 29, the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, and an outbreak in the capital’s Thanh Xuan district, according to the Hanoi Health Department.
The newly discovered cases include an Austrian national, who was a passenger boarding the same flight VN160 with two Chinese experts infected with the virus earlier, a female patient related to a cluster of infection at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases’ Kim Chung facility, and two F1 contacts with confirmed coronavirus patients.
With the latest addition, Hanoi has recorded a total of 170 cases of local transmission, including 105 in locked down hospitals, followed by Bac Ninh with 137 and Da Nang with 102.
Amid the increasingly complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hanoi People’s Committee has decided to stop crowded sports activities at golf courses and golf training courses. The decision will take effect from 12:00 May 13 until further notice.
The same day, the Center for Disease Control of the northern Thai Binh province also announced the detection of four fresh positive COVID-19 cases, who are students of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
They are all F1 cases associated with coronavirus patients at the Department of Geriatrics of the provincial General Hospital and have been put into isolation in the city's concentrated quarantine area.
Thus, Thai Binh province has registered 10 cases of COVID-19 to date, with all being placed in quarantine for medical monitoring at Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital.
By May 13 morning, Vietnam has documented 2,213 domestically-transmitted infections, and 1,445 imported cases so far, with 643 fresh cases recorded since the recurrence of the disease late last month.
