82 COVID-19 cases recorded over 18 hours, closely tied to ongoing outbreaks
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health (MoH) has confirmed a further 30 coronavirus cases in four localities during the past six hours, raising Vietnam’s 18-hour infection number to 82.
All new patients were detected at quarantine facilities and closely linked to ongoing outbreaks Da Nang, Hanoi, Bac Giang and Phu Tho, the MoH said in its 18.00hrs update.
Notably, 20 more cases were recorded in Da Nang city alone, a coronavirus hotspot in the country.
The city moved to lock down An Don industrial park in Son Tra district after more than 30 people first tested positive on May 11.
Meanwhile, Hanoi capital detected seven more cases that had close contact with COVID-19 patients at ongoing outbreaks.
Elsewhere, epidemiologists documented two more cases in Bac Giang, another coronavirus hotspot, and one case in Phu Tho.
Earlier, the MoH announced 19 more local infections at noon, and 33 community cases in the morning of the same day.
Vietnam has so far confirmed 610 locally transmitted cases in 26 cities and provinces since the virus recurred on April 28. Clusters of infections have been detected in Hanoi, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Vinh Phuc and Da Nang.
