Hanoi delays face-to-face learning for first to sixth graders
VOV.VN - The capital city of Hanoi has decided to postpone its plan to restart offline learning from February 21 for students from the first to sixth grades in all 12 inter-city districts.
The move comes following the Hanoi People's Committee agreeing with the proposal made by the municipal Department of Education and Training to suspend allowing these graders to return to school until further notice.
The COVID-19 outbreak is currently evolving in a complex nature in the capital, with between 3,000 and 4,000 new infections recorded on a daily basis, posing a threat to the community.
Meanwhile, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, an intensified cold wave is set to hit Hanoi early Saturday (February 19), keeping the region in a state of bone-chilling cold over the next few days.
These factors have caused parents to worry about sending their children to school, leading to a low consensus rate among parents in this regard.
Earlier on February 15, the Hanoi administration decided to allow pupils from the first to sixth grades in 12 urban districts to resume face-to-face learning as of February 21 after nine months of distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
