FPT, RoK University launch training programme in Vietnam
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s tech giant FPT has announced a partnership with Kyungpook National University (KNU) of the Republic of Korea to launch an international training programme in Vietnam, aiming to develop high-quality human resources in technology and business.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect between FPT University and Kyungpook National University was signed in Hanoi on March 5.
Under the MoU, the KNU Vietnam programme will offer two key majors: Intelligent Information Technology and Business. The curriculum will be fully transferred from the Korean university, ensuring that academic standards and learning outcomes align with those of KNU in the Republic of Korea. Graduates will receive official bachelor’s degrees awarded by Kyungpook National University.
The technology programme will focus on computer science, engineering and emerging technologies, while the business track will emphasise modern management thinking and operational capabilities in a global environment.
According to Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation, cooperation between the two universities with strong technological training capabilities will help build a new generation of engineers capable of meeting global market demands, especially as artificial intelligence is reshaping the technology landscape.
In the long term, the KNU Vietnam programme is expected to become a model for sustainable international cooperation, bringing together enterprises, universities and policymakers to develop a high-quality talent ecosystem. The initiative also aims to support the technology development strategies and investment attraction efforts of both Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.
At the signing ceremony, Choi Kyo-jin, RoK Minister of Education, said the signed document would allow Vietnamese students to access world-class education without leaving their home country.
He noted that educational cooperation between the two countries has grown significantly in recent years, and the new partnership reflects the strong trust and collaboration between the education ministries of the two countries.
