Five more COVID-19 deaths reported, one without underlying illness

VOV.VN - Five more COVID-19 patients have died in Vietnam, including a 50-year old female patient in Ho Chi Minh City who had not been suffering from any underlying health issues, the Ministry of Health said on July 9.

The remaining four patients were aged between 43 and 85 and came from Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap.

They had been suffering from a number of other chronic illnesses, including stroke, hypertension, heart failure, diabetes (type II), and Thalassemia splenectomy.

Each of the individuals had previously tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus and subsequently passed away after being admitted to hospital for treatment.

The latest deaths therefore brought the national COVID-19 death toll up to 110.
