Vietnam reports five more COVID-19 deaths, death toll rises to 102
VOV.VN - Vietnamese health authorities reported five more COVID-19 related deaths on July 7, taking the nation’s total death toll for the pandemic to 102.
Notably, four of the patients suffered from no underlying illnesses, said the Ministry of Health.
The country's 98th death involved a 67-year-old woman from Bac Giang province who had tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on June 3.
The patient had been suffering from high blood pressure for several years and had also been diagnosed with diabetes for one year.
The other four deaths linked to COVID-19 involve individuals residing in Ho Chi Minh City who were confirmed to have no underlying illnesses.
They endured pneumonia brought on by complications relating to SARS-CoV-2, along with progressive respiratory failure.
The latest five victims therefore raised the country’s death count as part of the ongoing fourth COVID-19 wave of infections to 67, with the national figure now at 102 in total.
