Five fishermen remain missing after boat sinks in Binh Thuan

According to a representative from Ca Na border station, a fishing vessel with the code NT 90167 TS capsized following strong waves in the waters off of Hon Cau at 19:00 on July 2.

The boat which is owned by Tran Truc Ba, 36, was carrying 10 crew members on board at the time.

Fortunately, another fishing vessel, captained by Tran Cuong, happened to be passing by at the time of the incident and attempted to save crew members of the sinking vessel.

In total, five fishermen were successfully saved, including Tran Van An, 39, Tran Ngoc Quan, 23, and Tran Van Dang, seven, all of whom reside in Phuoc Diem commune.

However, the five other crew members still remain missing. They have been identified as Vui Van Toa, La Van Toan, Tran Truc Ba, Cao Tan Thanh, and Nguyen Tan Kiet.

Rescue forces are continuing to search for the remaining crew members.
