Five crew members escape as fire burns down high-speed motorized boat
VOV.VN - Five crew member managed to escape a high-speed motorized boat before a fire burned down the passenger vessel in Quang Ninh, a tourist destination in northern Vietnam, on June 3.

Local authorities reported boat Tung Duong QN-8686, operating the Van Don – Quan Lan route in Quang Ninh caught fire while it was moving near Ao Tien port for refueling at around 5:30 PM. The fire was said to start from the engine compartment.
Five crew members on board attempted to extinguish the fire but failed, forcing them to jump into the sea and swim to a nearby vessel to escape. There were no tourists on board the vessel when the incident happened.
Firefighting and rescue teams from Quang Ninh were quickly deployed, in collaboration with nearby civilian boats to control the blaze.
No casualties were reported, but the boat was completely destroyed by the fire within 30 minutes.
The QN-8686 is a two-hull boat with a capacity of 132 passengers, used for tourist transport between Van Don and Quan Lan islands.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and reviewing maritime safety and fire prevention measures for vessels operating on this route.
