The document follows a tragic fire in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 8 on the morning of April 2, which claimed three lives.

The Minister of Public Security and the Chairpersons of People’s Committee of provinces and cities, particularly big cities, were requested to seriously and effectively implement the PM's directions on strengthening fire prevention and fighting in the new situation, inclluding Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 3, 2023.

According to the dispatch, agencies and local authorities need to step up public awareness campaigns and equip residents with essential fire prevention knowledge and skills.
