Five Chinese nationals arrested after illegally entry attempt
VOV.VN - Border forces operating in the Mekong Delta province of Long An arrested five Chinese citizens on March 2 after they had entered the nation illegally.
The arrests took place at midnight in Thai Binh Trung commune of Vinh Hung district.
Upon being questioned by police officers, the suspects, who originate from Fujian province in China, confessed to illegally entering the country on February 28 before being brought to Ho Chi Minh City by a trafficker.
The Chinese nationals also stated that they are in the process of passing through Vietnam in order to reach Cambodia for the purpose of employment.
Each of the suspects added that they were unaware of the traffickers’ details and this was the first time that they had entered the nation.
Following their arrest, police forces placed them into quarantine in an effort to prevent the possible spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The case is currently under further investigation.
