First Comac Airshow debuts in Vietnam
VOV.VN - Two aircraft C919 and ARJ21 of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac) landed at Van Don International Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh on February 26 as they prepare to begin a series of flight demonstrations from February 26 to February 29.
After joining the Singapore Airshow 2024, the pair of C919 and ARJ21 aircraft flew directly to Van Don International Airport in order to continue the Comac’s flight demonstration for four days in Vietnam.
This will also mark the first time that C919 has been widely introduced at an international exhibition in the nation, with visitors able to explore each aircraft.
Hoang Van Dung, deputy director of Van Don International Airport, said that Comac Airshow event will serve to affirm the airport’s position as the first and leading private hub of its kind nationwide, particularly as it has been equipped with infrastructure to organise diverse aviation events from around the world.
The function will serve to create a premise for the operation of commercial flights from Chinese provinces and cities to Van Don in Quang Ninh moving forward, he noted.
According to the schedule, the opening ceremony of the Comac Airshow will take place on the morning of February 27 and will feature the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnamn, Chinese and Vietnamese airlines, and travel companies.
Following that, the planes will be on display at the airport before heading to to Con Dao, Tan Son Nhat, and Dong Hoi.
After this, Comac's aircraft will continue to fly to Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Vientiane in Laos.
