Elevated ring road No.2 officially put into operation

After more than four years of construction, the VND10 trillion overpass covering four districts of Hanoi was officially inaugurated on January 11.

The widened ground stretches from Vinh Tuy to Nga Tu Vong and eight to 10 lanes, while the elevated section connecting Nga Tu So to Vinh Tuy Bridge has four lanes and forms a traffic ring above Hanoi’s streets running through the districts of Hai Ba Trung, Dong Da, Thanh Xuan, and Hoang Mai.

Municipal representatives and relevant agencies cut the ribbons as they launch the ring road No 2 section.

Duong Duc Tuan, vice chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, says the launch of the ring road from Vinh Tuy to Nga Tu So will contribute to reducing traffic congestion that has impacted roads for many years, thereby paving the way for the completion of other projects and the deployment of the ring road No 4 in the future.

A representative of the consortium of contractors reveals that a mobile movable scaffolding system (MSS) was applied in building the ring road, duly helping to complete the project nearly three months ahead of schedule.

The project received major investment from Vingroup Group under a Build-Transfer (BT) contract with the consortium of contractors being Trung Nam E&C - Trung Chinh.

This represents one of Hanoi’s key projects, with the aim of reducing traffic congestion and contributing to accelerating socio-economic development in residential areas along the ring road.
