Eight more COVID-19 infections recorded at Hanoi hospital
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health confirmed eight more coronavirus cases at Hanoi-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases on May 6 morning after announcing 14 cases 12 hours earlier.
All eight new infections are patients given treatment at hospital No2 in Hanoi’s outlying district of Dong Anh.
Vietnam is entering into a new phase of the COVID-19 pandemic as the source of infection is still unknown, especially for the cluster of infections at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases which receives and treats COVID-19 patients.
The hospital was cordoned off on May 5 for epidemiological investigations, contact tracing and testing, and the lockdown measure lasts until May 19.
Those who visited the hospital for examination, treatment or patients’ care from April 14 to May 4, were required to contact nearby medical facilities for consultation and help.
The Hanoi administration also asked its residents to strictly follow the Ministry of Health’s 5K message, including making health declaration, donning a face mask and not gathering in large crowds in public places.
Locals were advised to stay indoors as much as possible in to order to halt the spread of the virus.
The virus recurred in Vietnam on April 29 and it has now been reported in 10 cities and provinces across the country, with 64 cases detected.
