Eight bank workers hospitalized due to carbon monoxide poisoning in Da Nang

VOV.VN - Eight bank workers in Bien Hoa city of Dong Nai province have been hospitalized for monitoring and treatment due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

A representative of the Dong Nai Department of Health confirmed on July 31 that the eight patients are receiving emergency treatment at Hoan My ITO hospital, showing symptoms such as headache, dizziness, restlessness, nervousness, difficulty breathing, tachycardia (fast heartbeat), and skin redness.

Immediately upon hospital admission, doctors gave the patients oxygen, intravenous fluids, and resuscitation, with their health under close monitoring.

Currently, the patients stay conscious, have less headache and dizziness, and show stable vital signs.

Local authorities said these patients were working for a bank in Bien Hoa city.

The bank suffered a power outage from 7:00 a.m. on July 31, prompting managers to run an electric generator in the basement of the building. The generator produced carbon monoxide that was to blame for the poisoning case.
