COVID-19: Vietnam records another imported case on Apr. 9 morning

VOV.VN - A Vietnamese returnee from Angola has been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes the COVID-19 disease, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said on April 9 morning.

The male patient, 55, boarded flight VN88 from Angola to Vietnam’s Van Don International Airport on March 31. He was placed in quarantine as soon as he landed at the airport in Quang Ninh province.

He tested positive and was transferred to the General Hospital of Bac Ninh province for medical surveillance and treatment.

On April 8 afternoon, the MoH confirmed nine more imported cases, including two Indian experts.

Currently, the coronavirus outbreak has been brought under control across the country, without a single case detected in the community for the past few days.

A total of 910 locally transmitted cases have been confirmed since the virus recurred in late January 2021.

Hai Duong province, a gateway to Hanoi capital, has recorded 726 cases. The locality has recently dissolved its third, last field hospital after the break was kept in check.

Vietnam has been implementing the national COVID-19 vaccination campaign since March 3. More than 56,000 people from 19 cities and provinces have been inoculated against the virus.
