COVID-19: Vietnam records 3 cases over 24 hours
VOV.VN - Three people, including two in Hai Duong province, the country’s biggest coronavirus hotspot, have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the Ministry of Health announced on March 13 afternoon.
The two residents of Hai Duong tested positive during their stay in a concentrated quarantine facility. They had come into close contact with COVID-19 patients before being diagnosed with the virus.
Notably, both patients are employees of Poyun Electronics Co. Ltd in Chi Linh city where the first case was reported in late January 2021.
Hai Duong has controlled the fresh outbreak, with only one or two positive cases diagnosed during the past few days as opposed to dozens recorded a couple of weeks ago.
The virus has also been kept in check in 12 other cities and provinces across the country as no new cases have been reported over the past days.
The same day, the Ministry of Health announced an imported case, returning to Vietnam from Germany.
Vietnam has confirmed more than 2,500 COVID-19 cases since the first was detected in January 2020. Of the total, as many as 2,086 patients have been discharged from hospital after making a full recovery.
Among the active cases, 187 have tested negative for the virus at least once.
The number of deaths caused by COVID-19 and related illnesses remains at 35.
