COVID-19: No fresh community cases over four days

VOV.VN - Vietnam has recorded no new locally transmitted coronavirus cases during the past four days, while nearly 34,000 people have been vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The fresh coronavirus outbreak has been brought under control across the country, but key anti-coronavirus measures remain in place, according to the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Vietnam has recorded 908 cases since the third wave of the coronavirus struck and spread to 13 cities and provinces across country. The northern province of Hai Duong, a gateway to Hanoi capital, has reported 724 cases.

Doctors have so far cured 2,198 out of 2,572 COVID-19 patients Vietnam has confirmed since the virus was reported in January 2020.

Thirty-five patients have died of COVID-19 and related illnesses, mostly in Da Nang city, central Vietnam, during the emergence of the second wave last summer.

According to the National Expanded Immunization Programme, nearly 34,000 people in 15 cities and provinces have been vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus nationwide.

Vietnam is currently using the AstraZeneca vaccine imported in late February. No serious side-effects have been recorded.
