COVID-19: Vietnam reports no new coronavirus case on March 21
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health recorded no fresh COVID-19 case on March 21, with the overall number of infections standing at 2,572, including a total of 908 domestic cases detected since the resurgence of the virus in late January.
Among the national infection tally, 1,601 are local infections and 971 are imported from abroad.
As many as 2,198 have fully recovered from the SARS-CoV-2 virus so far, with the fatality count remaining at 35.
According to details provided by the Expanded National Immunization Programme, nearly 31,000 frontline medical workers along with members of community-based anti-COVID-19 groups had been injected with the COVID-19 vaccine.
Furthermore over 37,170 people are being quarantined nationwide as part of the nation’s COVID-19 containment efforts, while 118 cases have tested negative for the virus at least one.
At a recent cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked competent agencies to devise plans for carrying out "vaccine passport" scheme as a means of helping tourism and aviation sectors recover soon in the time ahead.
He ordered relevant agencies to consider appropriate anti-pandemic prevention measures as an official policy for COVID-19 vaccine passport holders is adopted.
Since the latest COVID-19 outbreak that hit the nation on January 28, the majority of the 13 pandemic-hit localities have gone through many days without recording any community infections.
