COVID-19: National infections total 1,385 after four cases recorded

VOV.VN - Vietnam confirmed an additional four imported cases of COVID-19, all Vietnamese, raising the national count to 1,385, the Ministry of Health reported on December 10.

The newly registered patients on December 8 entered Cam Ranh airport in the south central province of Khanh Hoa on flight VN88 from the United Arab Emirates (UAE). They were immediately quarantined for COVID-19 test, and their test results came back positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus one day later. Currently, the patients are put into isolation to undergo treatment at Phu Yen General Hospital.

With the new infections, the nation’s total COVID-19 cases climbed to 1,385, including 693 local transmissions, 692 imported cases which placed into quarantine immediately upon arrival.

Among the positive cases currently receiving treatment, 19 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 at least one.

There have been a total of 1,225 cases of recovery so far and 35 coronavirus patients have died as a result of severe chronic diseases and COVID-19 related complications.

More than 20,740 people are now in quarantine for health observation nationwide, with 161 individuals at hospitals, whilst the remainder are at other quarantine facilities or at home.
