COVID-19: An imported case from Russia takes Vietnam tally to 1,060
VOV.VN - A Vietnamese returnee from Russia has been diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, bringing Vietnam’s tally of coronavirus cases to 1,060, the Ministry of Health reported at 18.00hrs September 11.
The 21-year-old resident of Thanh Hoa province entered Vietnam on September 8 and was placed in quarantine as soon as he landed in the country.
He tested positive on September 11 and is now given treatment at Hanoi capital’s Hospital of Tropical Diseases.
September 11 is the 9th consecutive day Vietnam has registered no locally transmitted cases.
Vietnam has so far recorded a total of 1,060 coronavirus cases, including 403 cases returning from epidemic hit countries.
As many as 902 people have fully recovered from the disease, including nine cases announced on September 11.
The death toll caused by the disease has risen to 35, with most of the fatalities suffering from underlying health issues.
Of the remaining 132 cases in hospital, 54 cases have tested negative for the virus at least once.
The number of people who returned from overseas or had contact with COVID-19 patients has fallen to nearly 36,000.
