COVID-19: An imported case from Angola takes Vietnam’s tally to 1,145
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health reported on October 22 morning a Vietnamese returnee from Angola has been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing Vietnam’s tally of coronavirus infections to 1,145.
The 29-year-old man, a resident of Ha Tinh province, took flight VN8 from Angola to Vietnam on October 20 and was quarantined after the plane landed at Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh, northern Vietnam.
He tested positive on October 21 and is now receiving treatment at the Bac Ninh provincial General Hospital, according to the Ministry of Health.
As of 06.00 October 22 Vietnam has recorded a total of 1,145 locally transmitted and imported coronavirus cases. As many as 1,046 patients have fully recovered from the disease and have been discharged from hospital.
The death toll caused by the disease and related illnesses remains unchanged at 35.
The country has gone through 50 consecutive days without a single new community infection.
