COVID-19: 29 more community cases confirmed, nearly 1 million vaccinated
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health (MoH) said on May 14 morning that 29 Vietnamese people in four localities have been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus during the past six hours, while nearly 1 million people have been vaccinated against the virus.
Bac Giang, a coronavirus hotspot, recorded 10 cases closely linked to the ongoing outbreak at Van Trung industrial park, according to the MoH’s 06.00hrs update on May 14.
Elsewhere, six cases were detected in Bac Ninh, five in Hanoi, four in Lang Son, three at the K Cancer Hospital No2 in Hanoi, and one at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases No2 in Hanoi.
Notably, the newly detected patients were those who were in lockdown areas or quarantine facilities.
The MoH also said as many as 959,182 people have been inoculated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus since the vaccination campaign began on March 8.
Vietnam has been using the AstraZeneca vaccine purchased by the Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC) and sponsored by the United Nations administered COVAX Facility.
The MoH is expected to receive an additional 1.67 million doses from COVAX Facility on May 5.
