Chinese swindlers arrested in Quang Ninh
VOV.VN - Police based in Mong Cai city in the northern province of Quang Ninh have arrested 10 Chinese fraudsters who used technology in order to steal money from their countrymen living in China.
The suspects were identified as Zhang Pei Chang, Zhang Da Kun, Ma Ri Dong, Zhang Da Xian, Zhang Tian Chang, Wu Yong Xian, Zhang Jin Long, Long Jiang, Pang You, and Pu Xiao Tong.
According to information given by local police, when searching the group’s rented house located on Nhat Duat street in Hai Yen ward of Mong Cai City they found a number of computers, mobile phones, and electronic devices which were used with the purpose of defrauding and appropriating the property of Chinese people through various applications, such as TikTok, Telegram, and WeChat.
Police added that all of the suspects had used passports and e-visas to enter Vietnam as tourists before renting the house in order to operate the online scam.
On September 30, Mong Cai police completed procedures to hand over them to police of China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
