China confirms 7 Vietnamese among landslide deaths
VOV.VN - Officials of the northern province of Ha Giang said today, July 27, that seven of the people killed in the torrential rain that recently struck southern China that spawned flooding and mudslides have been positively confirmed as Vietnamese.
Tran Duc Quy, vice chair of provincial people’s committee, made the announcement saying that the names and identities of the seven individuals have now been positively identified by Guangxi officials as Vietnamese.
All the dead were residents of the district of Meo Vac, he noted. Additionally, Guangxi officials affirmatively established the identities of another 33 residents of the Meo Vac district that were injured.
