Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line test run begins today
VOV.VN - The 13km-long Cat Linh-Ha Dong elevated railway, Hanoi’s first urban railway project, began trial operations on September 20.
A trial run of 13 trains will be conducted along the whole 13km route of the elevated railway system. |
Trains will depart from Yen Nghia bus station in Ha Dong district and end at Cat Linh depot in Dong Da district, stopping at each station every and travelling at speeds of 30-65km per hour. |
The trial runs will take place every 10 minutes and will be tested in possible scenarios and emergency cases which could arise when the trains are officially put into operation. |
The Cat Linh-Ha Dong urban railway project has 13 trains with 52 carriages. The railway was manufactured by China's Beijing Subway Rolling Stock Equipment Ltd. |
Each train hasfour carriages and a total length of 79metres, they can run at a maximum speed of 80km per hour and have an average speed of 35km per hour. |
The project’s total investment was US$552 million in 2008, which was adjusted to US$868 million in 2016. |
Once completed, the Ministry of Transport will hand over the elevated railway system to the capital city of Hanoi for commercial operations. |
The trial operations are being supervised and assessed by Apave-Certifier-Tricc. |
