Cargill builds two new schools in Vietnam

VOV.VN - Cargill Vietnam Ltd. has inaugurated two new schools for more than 400 pupils in the Central Highlands.

The Sao Mai preschool in Cu Ni village, Eakar district, Dak Lak province and Tran Quoc Toan Primary School in Duc Manh village, Dak Mil district, Dak Nong province with four classrooms each, were built at a cost of VND2.5 billion.

Cargill Vietnam is expected to build four more schools by the end of May next year to bring the total number of schools funded by the company in Vietnam to 87. It began constructing schools for Vietnamese pupils in disadvantaged rural areas in 1997.

Under the auspices of Cargill Cares, around US$5 million have been raised from Cargill staff, customers and partners since 1997 to build schools for more than 13,000 pupils in 46 Vietnamese provinces and cities.

Cargill is one of the leading animal nutrition companies in Vietnam, producing fish and shrimp, poultry and swine feed, premix and additives.
